Spotlight on Young People – Keiran and Amy

Last year, FiFab welcomed Keiran Samuel and Amy Stewart to our team as a business administration apprentice and a quality technician apprentice, respectively. After settling into their apprenticeships and new roles, we caught up with them both to find out how they are enjoying working with the team.

Keiran tells us,

“So far, my time at FiFab has been great, currently I’m at college for majority of the week and onsite for 1 and a half days each week. The overall experience has been good, and the people have also been very welcoming and friendly. Over the past 8 months I’ve been through many different departments to learn how they operate and looking at some of the jobs I will be doing if needed, I’ve been in the purchasing, sales, quality, and stores departments so far. I have got a few roles that I have been given. These roles are doing stock checks to see if there’s enough of certain products, using picklists and Epicor to show how much material is being used for certain jobs and other tasks.”

Amy also shared how she was enjoying her apprenticeship,

“I have been at college studying my NC In fabrication welding since August, which has a mix of workshop and class learning. I have been on site for around 5 weeks in this time, working in the quality department. I’ve really enjoyed learning from my colleagues there which has been invaluable to me to really understand the importance of quality within FIFAB and the responsibilities that come with this role. I’m really looking forward to joining them further whilst studying a HNC after the summer. “

Well done to Keiran and Amy for their progress to date and we are delighted to have them both on the team!
